pread many forms of disease, some of which can be fatal. Rats can carry a range of diseases which mean they pose a substantial risk to inhabitants of a property. Diseases including –
- Salmonella
- Weil’s disease

- Tuberculosis
are commonly found to be carried by rats. Rats are also widely known to carry fleas, mites and ticks which all have the potential to cause acute allergic reactions amongst humans. Besides this, it’s not uncommon to find they have chewed through piping, electrical cables, wood work & caused serious structural damage to the property they inhabit.
Although estimates vary, damage caused by rats has a devastating effect on the world’s food levels. It is extremely likely that a mind-blowing one fifth of the world’s total food output is either eaten, spoiled or destroyed by rats. Rats can be extremely destructive to crops and property, they are generally regarded as vermin. Rats pro-create at a very fast rate and if they populate a place which contains no natural predators, they can quickly overpopulate the vicinity and become very hard to contain.

Some of the signs you may find in your home or garden may include:
- Unusual noises in under floor boards, inside walls, or under decking in a back garden.

- Unpleasant odours – Rats leave behind an unpleasant odour (similar to ammonia) that will be particularly strong in enclosed areas.
